About the Role

As the Youth Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting student wellbeing and engagement, ensuring they remain connected to education and training opportunities. You will work closely with students, families, and the wider school community to address barriers to learning and provide targeted interventions that promote positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying barriers to student success and connecting them with appropriate support services.
  • Providing individual case management and group support to maximise student engagement.
  • Developing and fostering relationships with families to support at-risk students.
  • Monitoring attendance patterns and implementing early intervention strategies.
  • Creating and delivering programs to enhance social and emotional wellbeing.

This role would suit a compassionate and proactive individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and supporting their educational journey.

About You

The following traits would be beneficial:

  • Experience in youth support, case management, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, families, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and implement wellbeing programs tailored to student needs.
  • Knowledge of early intervention strategies and support services for at-risk youth.
  • Organisational skills to maintain accurate records and monitor student progress.

      • Ability to build and maintain positive, respectful, and trusting relationships with 
        students from diverse backgrounds, using strong interpersonal and communication skills to 
        provide individualised support and effective case management. 
      • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary student services 
        team, effectively liaising with school support staff, support services and other stakeholders to 
        coordinate holistic, student-centred support. 
      • Ability to develop, strengthen, and sustain positive relationships between the 
        school and families to support student wellbeing and engagement, including conducting home 
        visits in a sensitive and professional manner. Ability to identify at-risk students, and refer them 
        to appropriate school or external support services.
      • Capacity to use analytical skills to interpret student data to contribute to effective case 
        management for students.
