Hume Anglican Grammar is a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School offering education from Prep to Year 12 in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne.   

  • Hume has an open enrolment policy so educates children from many faiths and with a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities.

  • In 2025, the School will have 2,960 students and employ some 290 staff - 195 teaching and 95 non-teaching. The student enrolment at each campus is at Mt Ridley 1,448, Donnybrook 1,036 and Kalkallo 476.

About the role:

Hume Anglican Grammar acknowledges the critical role of school leaders in developing a wellbeing culture across the school community, which draws links between student wellbeing and improved learning outcomes.

The Year Level Coordinator ensures the pastoral needs of students within the year level are met, and the Homeroom teachers within their year level group deliver an evidence-based student wellbeing curriculum that aligns with the whole school strategic approach Prep to Year 12. 

The Year Level Coordinator is recognised and respected by colleagues, parents and community members, as an exemplary teacher. They have demonstrated consistent and innovative student wellbeing practices and the ability to initiate and lead programs that focus on improving educational opportunities for all students. They are well respected in their ability to implement and to have oversight of the innovative student wellbeing curriculum. They continue to seek ways to improve their own professional practice and to share their experience with colleagues. They are skilled in mentoring teachers, using targeted interventions that develop knowledge, practice and professional engagement in others. They promote creative, innovative thinking and professional practice among colleagues.

The Year Level Coordinator works with members of the Senior Leadership Team, including the Director of Student Wellbeing, and other staff in positions of leadership to implement the School Strategic Plan – Shaping our Future, to promote exemplary educational experiences, that reflect the values and vision of the school.

The Year Level Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Section by assisting them to effectively manage student wellbeing and pastoral care for the students, and the Director of Student Wellbeing to implement the Vision for Student Wellbeing. They play a key role in overseeing students' holistic development and engagement in the school.

The teacher role is ongoing (1.0 FTE) and the position of responsibility is fixed term, commencing on Tuesday, 28 January 2025 and will conclude at the end of 2027 academic year. You will receive a leadership allowance at Level 2 and has a 0.36 and Homeroom or equivalent time release.

Requirements of the Role: 

  • Bachelor of Education degree or higher
  • Current registration, or immediate eligibility for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
  • Previous experience in leadership position
