Full Time - 12‑Month Contract from Easter 2026 Pay: Lancashire County Council Pay Scale Employer: Veritas Education

Veritas Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1/2 Teacher to join a warm and welcoming primary school in Lancaster, covering a 12‑month maternity leave from Easter 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to work within a supportive and forward‑thinking school community.

We welcome applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners.

About the Role

  • Full-time class teacher for a mixed Year 1/2 class.
  • 12‑month maternity cover, beginning Summer Term (after Easter) 2026.
  • Working within a friendly and collaborative staff team.
  • Planning, teaching, assessing, and supporting pupils in line with KS1 curriculum expectations.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school, including parent engagement and school events.
  • Supported throughout by Sarah Maclachlan, Principal Recruitment Consultant at Veritas Education, with over 14 years of experience in education recruitment

    • Requirements

    To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working within KS1 (either through teaching roles or placements)
  • Strong understanding of phonics, early learning pedagogy, and KS1 assessment
  • A commitment to creating an engaging, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
