Are you an experienced and passionate Year One teacher looking to make a real difference in children's learning and development? We're seeking someone enthusiastic, creative, and confident in behaviour management to join our team from after Easter (or possibly sooner) until the end of the summer term.

About the role: As a Year One teacher in our school, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across all areas of the curriculum, ensuring learning is active, fun, and tailored to children's needs.
  • Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of your class, setting clear expectations and nurturing positive relationships.
  • Work with children with additional needs, including one child with high-level SEND who will have dedicated 1:1 support, and other children who need guidance to regain focus and consistency in their behaviour.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing timely feedback and adapting teaching strategies to help all children achieve their potential.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and colleagues, contributing to a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, sharing successes, challenges, and strategies for supporting learning at home.
  • The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience teaching Year One, with a strong understanding of the curriculum and developmental milestones.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills, able to maintain a calm, structured, and positive classroom environment.
  • The ability to differentiate learning for children with a range of abilities and needs, including SEND.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to a supportive and creative team.
