Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Workplace Health and Safety Officer to join our small, close-knit school community. This rewarding position involves ensuring safe work practices during and after school hours, in compliance with Brisbane Catholic Education regulations.

You will have:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all mandatory Brisbane Catholic Education regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Principal, groundsman, and cleaning staff to maintain a safe school environment.
  • Provide training and support to staff on health and safety practices.
  • Investigate and report on incidents and accidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance activities.
  • Promote a culture of safety and wellbeing within the school community.

To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:

  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
