Interested in working with children or young people but don't have teaching qualifications? Your experience could be more relevant than you think.

Veritas Education is looking for enthusiastic and reliable people across County Durham and surrounding areas who are interested in working within schools and specialist education settings.

We're keen to hear from people who have experience working with children, young people or adults, including:

  • Graduates considering a career in teaching, psychology or education
  • Sports coaches
  • Youth workers and youth support staff
  • Children's residential support workers
  • Care and support workers
  • Learning mentors
  • Experienced Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors
  • People with experience of autism, SEN, SEMH or additional needs

    • What could you be doing?

    Depending on your experience and confidence, opportunities could include:

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Working 1:1 or with small groups
  • Providing classroom and learning support
  • Supporting behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation
  • Covering lessons and supervising classes
  • Helping young people develop confidence, independence and life skills

    • You don't need to be a qualified teacher. We're much more interested in finding people who are patient, caring, resilient, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with young people.
