About this job

Position Information

Coramba Public School is situated in the regional north coast area of NSW and has a Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) of 130. The school currently enrols 25 students, divided into two classes: a K-2 class and a Year 3-6 class. While enrolment numbers have remained stable over recent years, there has been a significant decline in the past year due to various factors, including limited housing availability in the area, student relocations, and a large Year 6 cohort moving on to high school. Forty percent of students identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Island, and there are no students from EALD backgrounds.

The teaching staff includes a mix of experienced and early career teachers. The team consists of a teaching principal, an Assistant Principal of Curriculum Instruction who works one day per week, two classroom teachers, and a part-time administration officer.

The school implements Positive Behaviour for Learning, the Berry Street Education Model, and Restorative Practices as part of a holistic approach to student well-being and engagement.

Coramba Public School is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based practices in literacy and numeracy. With support from the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction and other knowledgeable professionals, enhancing teacher capacity is a primary focus of all professional learning opportunities.
