Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover) - Secondary

Long‑Term Temporary | Full‑Time (5 days p/week) | Until December 2026

Pay - £90-£110 p/day

A successful mixed 11-16 secondary school in Redcar is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long‑term temporary maternity cover basis until December 2026. This role is paid weekly and offers an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential.

Located in a beautiful coastal setting, with spectacular views and close proximity to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, this school provides a welcoming, inspiring environment in which students and staff thrive.

The Role

  • Providing adaptable in‑class support across a range of subjects
  • Delivering and managing targeted interventions for SEND and EAL learners
  • Supporting the development of individualised learning and support plans
  • Promoting high expectations, independence, progress and positive behaviour
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and SEN specialists

  • High aspirations for all students and a commitment to inclusive education
  • Experience supporting secondary‑aged learners (SEND or EAL experience beneficial)
  • Strong communication, organisation and relationship‑building skills
  • Resilient, proactive and able to adapt in a fast‑paced school environment
  • DBS on the Update Service (we can support applicants with this if needed)
