Location: Barking & Dagenham, East LondonSalary: £1,800 - £2,300 per monthStart Date: Immediate / SeptemberContract: Permanent | Full-time

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barking & Dagenham on a permanent, full-time basis.

Working closely with the class teacher, you will support pupils across the classroom, provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support, and help children develop both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning across the classroom

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils

  • Assist with targeted interventions and learning activities

  • Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development

  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement

  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff

  • Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment

    • Requirements

    Essential:

  • GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)

  • Experience working with children in a school, childcare or similar setting

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A patient, positive and enthusiastic approach

  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development

    • Desirable:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

  • Degree in Education, Psychology or a related subject
