Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Colne Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only Start Date: ASAP / September 2026

Veritas Education are working alongside a welcoming and supportive primary school in Colne who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and dedicated HLTA who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers across the school, delivering lessons, supporting pupils' progress, and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

The Role:

  • Deliver planned lessons across a range of year groups when required.
  • Support pupils' learning both in the classroom and through targeted intervention groups.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and senior leaders to raise attainment.
  • Provide classroom cover during teacher absence, PPA time, and training.
  • Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEN where required.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and promote a positive learning culture.

    • The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • HLTA status or relevant qualifications and experience.
  • Previous experience working within a primary school setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • The ability to engage and motivate children of varying abilities.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
