SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Nelson

Full Time | Long-Term Opportunity | September Start

Veritas Education are currently working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Nelson who are seeking a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

This rewarding role will involve supporting pupils with additional needs both on a 1:1 basis and within small groups, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and thrive within the classroom environment.

The Role

  • Providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
  • Supporting learning, communication and social development
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to help them achieve their full potential

    • The Ideal Candidate

  • Has previous experience working with children with SEN in a school, care or support setting
  • Is patient, nurturing and adaptable
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Can work effectively as part of a wider school team
  • Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential)
