Are you passionate about supporting young people in their education? Veritas Education is currently recruiting Secondary Teaching Assistants to work on a flexible day-to-day supply basis across a variety of secondary schools in Burnley from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates, youth workers, sports coaches, or anyone with experience supporting young people who is looking to gain valuable school-based experience.

The Role

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students in the classroom across a range of subjects
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
  • Help students stay focused, motivated, and engaged in their learning
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs and promote inclusion
  • Encourage positive behaviour and contribute to a safe learning environment

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • A patient, caring, and proactive attitude
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to supporting learning
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
