We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEMH Secondary School in Dorking, Surrey, starting in June 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who require additional emotional, social, and behavioural support to achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Work closely with teaching staff to create a positive and engaging learning environment
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support inside and outside the classroom
  • Help students develop confidence, resilience, and positive relationships
  • Encourage emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour strategies

    • Requirements

  • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service is essential
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working within an SEN or SEMH setting is desirable but not essential
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
