Teaching Assistant

Location: Harlow (Greater London/Essex Border) Position: Teaching Assistant Contract: Full-Time Start Date: ASAP Pay: £1,800 - £2,200 per month

Veritas Education are working with a friendly and supportive primary school in Harlow who are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team for the new academic year.

This is a full-time role supporting pupils across the classroom, including providing 1:1 and small group support where required. You will play a key role in helping pupils stay engaged, build confidence, and make strong academic and social progress.

The school has a strong focus on inclusion and creating a positive learning environment for all pupils. Experience supporting children with additional needs (SEN) is beneficial, but not essential - the school is open to graduates or individuals with a genuine interest in working within education.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Support for Pupils:

  • Provide classroom support across a range of subjects and activities

  • Work 1:1 or with small groups to support learning and development

  • Help pupils stay focused, engaged, and motivated

  • Support children with additional learning or behavioural needs

    • Support for Teachers:

  • Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation

  • Help maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive environment

  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver effective support

    • Requirements

    Essential:

  • GCSE Grade C/Level 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A positive, proactive, and reliable attitude

    • Desirable:

  • Experience working with children or in a school setting

  • Experience supporting SEN pupils

  • A degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field
