Are you nurturing, energetic, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs? We're looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with SEN (Autism) in a welcoming school in the Headingley area.

About the Role

You will be supporting a child who is working at a lower age range, providing help both in and out of the classroom to ensure they feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Your role will involve:

  • Building a warm, trusting relationship with the child
  • Supporting learning through play, outdoor activities, and structured games
  • Providing consistent behaviour suport and setting clear, firm boundaries
  • Helping the child regulate emotions and stay engaged in learning
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to tailor support
