A thriving mainstream secondary school in Hackney is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their SEN support team. This is a full-time, term-time role ideal for someone who wants to gain hands-on experience in a classroom before progressing into teacher training, educational psychology, or SEN-focused careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) across KS3 and KS4
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions
  • Assist teachers in mainstream classrooms to ensure inclusive learning
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

    • Person Specification:

  • Degree-level qualification
  • Passion for education and supporting young people
  • Interest in SEN, inclusion, or educational psychology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
