Learning Support Assistant

  • Job Title: KS2 Learning Support Assistant (Special Educational Needs)
  • Location: Edgeware, London
  • School: 2 Form Entry, Catholic Primary School
  • Start Date and Duration: The position will commence in January 2025. Trials are scheduled to take place as soon as possible.
  • Working Hours: This is a full-time role, 8:30AM-4PM
  • Salary: £90-£100 per day, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

    • Veritas Education are looking to hire an experienced Learning Support Assistant with experience of working on a 1-1 basis with a child with special educational needs. Your role as a Learning Support Assistant will centre around working alongside a child in Year 5 who has autism and global developmental delay. To succeed in this role, it is integral that you understand how best to provide individualized support, specific to this child.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the child in Year 5, providing tailored support in line with their individual education plan.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and SENCO to implement effective strategies for inclusion and development.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the child's social and emotional well-being within the school community.

    • Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Relevant qualification in education or special education.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
