We are seeking a Teacher Aide to undertake a range of tasks in supporting the needs of students, under the direction of the teacher, in our Industrial Technology and Design (ITD) workshop classroom.
Duties include:
• General classroom support in the workshop
• Preparation of resources and clearing learning materials
• Using technology to support learning activities
• Administrative duties such as photocopying and filing
• Use and maintain machines and equipment used in the processing of timber, metal and plastic materials
• Responsible for ensuring maintenance of equipment, tools, and machinery
• Maintain appropriate storage requirements for flammables cupboards /dangerous goods
• Assist teachers and students to maintain a safe and clean workshop environment; and
• Maintain adequate stores of pre-cut materials and supplies to ensure minimal disruption to classroom activities
Ideally you will have:
• Previous experience as a Teacher Aide and/or hold a Cert 3 in Educational Support
• Experience or an interest in manual arts
• Proven communication and interpersonal skills
• An understanding of the work of a ITD Practical classroom
• A willingness to work as part of a team
• You will also demonstrate an ability and initiative to apply your skills in supporting students to achieve successful learning outcomes.
