Position Information

Narrandera High School is a comprehensive secondary school in the Riverina region, with a current enrolment of approximately 330 students where 30% of students identify as Indigenous. 

Narrandera High School has an Aboriginal Learning and Engagement Centre (ALEC) , a Clontarf Academy and an Intervention Centre to support inclusive practice and personalised learning. There are also two multi-categorical classrooms in operation. NHS is a successful Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school with a focus on restorative practice and positive relationships.

The school is committed to improving effective classroom practice with staff professional learning and collaboration being instrumental in achieving this goal. This learning will prioritise improving student literacy and numeracy levels through explicit teaching and effective data collection, analysis, and use. This underpins our belief that all students at Narrandera High School will make progress and achieve learning growth. Narrandera High School has a strong focus on building and maintaining a school culture where there is an expectation that every student, every teacher, and every leader will improve every year. Specific Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach Visual Arts.
  • Ability to differentiate programs and learning to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners.
  • Demonstrated effective classroom management practices to build positive learning outcomes.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff and parents.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
