Position Information

East Hills Girls’ Technology High School is a comprehensive secondary school enrolling students from Years 7 to 12, with a current enrolment of 790. It is the only specialist technology high school for girls in NSW and is also an Apple Distinguished High School, with students using iPads in class. Students aspire to individual academic excellence by setting achievable and personalised learning goals, differentiated to meet students’ needs.  

The school is linguistically and culturally diverse with 76% of students having a language background other than English and 2.4% of students who identify as First Nations. We provide a quality education, inspiring students to develop to their full potential and contribute to their community as informed, caring citizens. The school enjoys strong support from the P & C Association.

Specific Selection Criteria
  1. Approval to teach Technology Mandatory (Year 7 and 8) and Food Technology. Approval to teach or preparedness to undertake Vocational Education and Training( VET) teacher training in Hospitality – Food and Beverage, providing the qualification entry benchmark is met.
  2. Capacity to collaborate and work as a dynamic member in a faculty team with a commitment to developing quality teaching and learning programs, resources and assessment tasks. 
  3. Evidence of effective classroom practice that includes the ability to cater for students with a diverse range of learning needs through differentiated curriculum, classroom management and integration of technology.
  4. Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the community.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
