Position Information
The Hills Sports High School is a comprehensive coeducational Years 7-12 school with an elite sporting stream and a total enrolment of 950 students, 5% from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background. The school caters for both local students and those enrolled in the Talented Sports Program. It is committed to a learning culture that values academic and sporting excellence.  A support unit caters for a total of 47 students. Extensive partnerships exist with community organisations and associations.   
The school has a dedicated staff focused on quality teaching and the use of technology to support learning. The school is implementing the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program and teachers are also currently focusing on embedding formative assessment and differentiation strategies into teaching and learning programs and practices. The recent refurbishment of the TAS facility provides outstanding resources for teachers to implement high quality courses including STEM.   
   
Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Technology Mandatory (7-8) and Industrial Technology - Timber.

Approval to teach or preparedness to undertake VET teacher training in VCG (Construction-General) providing the qualification entry benchmark is met.

Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and contribute positively to theTAS faculty.

Proven ability to manage practical spaces to ensure student safety, full participation and high levels of engagement in lessons.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
