Position Information
Pendle Hill High School is a comprehensive, co-educational school with an enrolment of 650 students from Years 7 to 12.
A rapidly growing school enrolment includes 60% of students from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds,
as well as students with a range of learning support needs. Our school has a high potential and gifted education class in
each of Years 7 to 10, as well as a Support Unit for students with a range of disabilities.
Our school community is committed to improvement, personal best in student learning and achievement, quality teaching
and equity in educational opportunities and outcomes. Our strategic directions are Reading and Numeracy, Attendance
and HSC Pathways. Our school is focused on identifying and embedding effective systems and structures that improve
learning and wellbeing outcomes for students and staff and support a culture of high expectations and collaborative
teacher professional learning and work.
A newly completed major building and refurbishment project provides new facilities such as a modern Library and resource
centre, lecture theatre, seminar and multimedia spaces as well as outdoor learning spaces and flexible classroom spaces.
We provide a broad curriculum for our students, taking advantage of our new facilities and flexible learning approaches.
Specific Selection Criteria
· · Approval to teach Technology Mandatory Years 7 and 8, Industrial Technology - Timber and the ability to maintain a safe practical learning environment.
· Ability to work collaboratively to plan and deliver engaging and differentiated teaching and learning programs and supports that meet the needs of diverse learners and foster a culture of high expectations.
· Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through explicit teaching, assessment and effective feedback.
· High level interpersonal, communication and organisation skills and the ability to build positive and effective relationships with students, staff and parents so that learning outcomes improve.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
