Position Information
Murrumbidgee Regional High School is a large, 7-12 comprehensive secondary school in Griffith with 590 students, including 12% Aboriginal and 22% Pasifika students. The school has a Clontarf Academy, an Aboriginal Learning and Engagement Centre and Pasifika Community Liaison Officer to support students and staff.
Murrumbidgee Regional High School - Griffith offers a comprehensive 7-12 curriculum. Senior elective lines are aligned to provide improved student choice and opportunities for specialisation. There is a growing reliance on technology and innovation to connect senior courses to enable greater collaboration between teachers and students. The school has an academic and vocational curriculum with a focus on the development of capabilities, innovation and evidence informed practice. There is an emphasis on learning and career pathways in hospitality, engineering and agriculture to meet the growing employment opportunities in Griffith.
The school is very well resourced, with the ability to employ a significant number of staff above establishment. This includes a Head Teacher VET, an Instructional Leader and STEM coordinator who works across our partner primary schools and with other primary and secondary schools in the local area. Of note, MRHS-Griffith was the 2025 winner of the best STEM program in Australian Schools at the Australian Education Awards for all school sectors.
The school has three strategic directions. The first is Student Growth and Attainment, the second being Systems and Structures which has at its core a focus on developing high quality processes to support student learning and the third has a focus on Inclusive School Development in Classroom Practice.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Technology Mandatory and Industrial Technology-Metal and willingness to teach Industrial Technology-Wood.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a proactive member of a faculty and contribute to developing, implementing and evaluating high level teaching programs and resources within the faculty, which support student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Proven ability in classroom management, communication and interpersonal skills that build positive and productive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
Conditions
Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (Conditions Apply). The Recruitment Bonus will be paid on a pro rata basis for permanent part-time teachers and executive staff. The maximum recruitment bonus available for a position is $20,000, including any job share arrangements.
A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
