Position Information
Warilla High School has an enrolment of 1093 students, including over 100 Aboriginal students. The school provides a quality, comprehensive education to a diverse student enrolment, supported by a largely experienced staff with an increasing number of new scheme teachers. The school has an outstanding program of differentiated teaching strategies to support student learning and promotes strong student welfare programs. Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Technology Mandatory, Food Technology and Hospitality-Food and Beverage, and willingness to teach Child Studies. Demonstrate proven success in the classroom by employing explicit teaching practices that foster student understanding and achievement.
- Ability to work effectively as a collaborative member of the TAS (Technological and Applied Studies) faculty. This includes contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of teaching programs and resources aimed at increasing student engagement and improving learning outcomes.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to oversee and maintain practical workspaces. Ensuring student safety, full participation during lessons, particularly in practical, hands-on learning contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt the curriculum to cater to diverse learning styles and needs to effectively ensure that all students have meaningful learning opportunities.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
