Position Information

Sylvania High School is a comprehensive high school located in the Sutherland Shire and residing on the land of the Dharawal speaking people. The student population is approximately 740 drawn with approximately 55% EAL/D students. The staff are committed to sustaining a positive learning culture that has ensured the school is highly valued by the community. Our school has a well-established reputation for outstanding academic, performing & creative arts and sporting achievements. The school has highly successful leadership, wellbeing and activism programs that enable students to develop their skills to be well prepared for the world beyond school. Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Industrial Technology Timber and Technology Mandatory.

 Evidence of effective classroom practice that includes the ability to cater for students with a diverse range of learning needs through differentiated curriculum, classroom management and integration of technology.

Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member of the TAS faculty and contribute to faculty programs and resources. 

Well-developed interpersonal, communicative, and organisational skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the community.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
