Position Information
Normanhurst Boys High School, with an enrolment of 750 students, is an academically selective high school with approximately 85% of students from a language background other than English. There are three classes in the autism support unit. The school has an exceptional wellbeing program that enables students to be known, valued, and cared for. Student wellbeing and success are at the centre of all decision-making processes. The school is committed to excellence in boys’ education, placing high importance on catering for the specific needs of high potential and gifted students. There is a strong focus on continuous improvement within a holistic educational environment centred on a shared understanding of high expectations and talent development. Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Software Design and Development, and Technology Mandatory (Years 7-8).
- Highly developed communication and organisational skills with proven ability to build positive and productive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
- Demonstrated capacity to work as a team to support the development of differentiated programs to maximise student engagement and meet the needs of high potential and gifted students.
- Willingness to contribute to, and/or lead, faculty and whole school co-curricular programs and activities.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
