Position Information

Glendale Technology High School is a comprehensive high school situated on a main distributor on the northern end of Lake Macquarie. It has a strong Special Education Unit consisting of 2 ED Classes, 5 MC classes and 1 IO Class. The school has a 19% population of Aboriginal students and 1% from an EALD background. The school has a strong focus on improving students’ individual determination and preparing students for their chosen careers of the future. The school has strong partnerships with its community of schools, the Glendale Education Alliance, ensuring a collaborative approach to the continuum of learning from preschool to Year 12.

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Technology Mandatory, Industrial Technology (Timber) and Food Technology.

Capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues to plan, implement and deliver quality differentiated teaching programs catering for students with a diverse range of learning needs. 

Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the community.

Understanding of the cultural and educational needs of Aboriginal students and a commitment to improving their educational outcomes.

 

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
