Position Information
Gledswood Hills High School is the new high school supporting the communities of Gregory Hills and Gledswood Hills with a current enrolment of 100 students. The school will be located in the South Western Sydney growth corridor which has seen exponential growth of residential housing over the past ten years.
The school will open on a pop up site at the commencement of Term 1, 2025 for Year 7 students only. This pop up site will be located on the grounds of Gregory Hills Public School. In 2026, the school will cater for Year 7 and 8 students on the pop up site. The new school build is expected to be open in Term 1, 2027. The new school will serve the communities of Gregory Hills and Gledswood Hills.
This teacher position will be the inaugural TAS teacher appointed to the school. The teacher will be responsible for leading curriculum design for Technology Mandatory TAS (Years 7-8) and contributing to a 4 hour per week integrated curriculum model.
Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach Industrial Technology - Timber and Technology Mandatory (Years 7-8).
2. Capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues in the design, implementation and evaluation of whole school programmes, practices and procedures to support a new and developing school.
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to build strong working relationships with staff, students, parents and the wider school community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
