About this job

Position Information

Evans High School is a comprehensive, co-educational secondary school has served the South Blacktown community since 1973. The school caters for over 840 students with 4% of students of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds and 70% Language Other than English and 28% EAL/D learners. The complexity of our setting includes Y7-12 comprehensive setting, the largest Intensive English Centre with an enrolment of over 300 students, a Support Unit with 4 classes addressing Autism and a Return to School Centre servicing Western Sydney. We provide a broad curriculum, including the full range of academic subjects as well as a number of vocational education pathways to ensure all students have the opportunity to achieve their career pathways. We undertake the compressed model of delivery of the HSC with both Year 11 and 12 studying together over three subjects each year - completing Preliminary and the HSC in that one year. This has had a hugely positive impact on HSC performance including Band 5 and 6 achievement and ATAR levels.
