Position Information
Cherrybrook Technology High School (CTHS) is a large comprehensive, coeducational high school that was established in 1992. CTHS has an enrolment of 2067 students, with 74% coming from non-English speaking backgrounds. The school has a highly motivated team of teaching, administrative and support staff, students, and parents, all committed to achieving strong academic outcomes, underpinned by a technologically innovative, supportive environment. Cherrybrook Technology High School values and encourages a broad range of academic, cultural, and sporting pursuits. Extensive extracurricular activities are available for students to excel in sports and cultural activities, and opportunities to participate in leadership initiatives are also offered. An important feature of the school is its wellbeing programs and systems that strive to support each child as they progress through high school.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Food Technology (FTY), Textiles and Design (TXD), and Technology Mandatory (ITX 7-8)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to build strong working relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider school community
- Demonstrated capacity to work as a collaborative member of the TAS Key Learning Area (KLA) and contribute towards the development of KLA programs and resources
- Capacity to integrate innovative ICT teaching strategies that create supportive and inclusive learning environments to improve educational outcomes for all students
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
