Position Information

Bankstown Girls High School is a comprehensive secondary school established in 1960, located in Sydney's South West. The student population of 510 girls is drawn from diverse cultural, religious and socio-economic backgrounds. While 98% of students have a non-English speaking background, 30% require some level of EAL/D support. Students participate in a wide range of learning experiences focusing on design thinking and inquiry based learning in the pursuit of academic improvement and excellence. The school's teaching staff are highly experienced and committed to a focused approach to school excellence. The school flourishes under the support of its culturally and linguistically diverse community. We have also fostered strong partnerships with local primary schools, universities, cultural institutions, businesses and community groups.

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach FTY Food Technology, TAS Technological and Applied Studies and willingness to teach VHF- Hospitality Food and Beverage.

Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member of the TAS faculty and contribute to faculty programs and resources.

Capacity to integrate technology and implement innovative teaching practices to foster engagement and improve student learning outcomes. 

Outstanding interpersonal skills with the capacity to establish positive relationships with colleagues, parents, students and the broader community.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
