Position Information
Walgett Community College Primary School (WCCPS) is a P-6 school with an enrolment of 97% Aboriginal students, approximately 130 students K-6 and up to 20 children per session in preschool. Walgett has a population of approximately 2300 and is situated in a remote rural context approximately 280 kilometres north of Dubbo beside the Namoi and Barwon rivers.
The school is part of the Connected Communities strategy and is committed to providing a high-quality education for all students through a diverse, relevant curriculum focusing on literacy, numeracy with strong student and community engagement. The school is well resourced and has an extensive staff compliment to deliver strong learning and wellbeing outcomes for all students.
The school has appointed an Assistant Principal Curriculum and Instruction leader with an Assistant Principal Mentor to support strong instructional leadership, mentoring, coordinate professional learning for teachers, monitor student outcomes, and support families to be active partners in their child's learning. To further enhance student outcomes the school's Senior Leader Community Engagement officer develops and supports active partnerships between the school and the wider community.

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with autism, moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities and challenging behaviours with demonstrated ability to implement strategies to meet student individual needs.

Demonstrated commitment to student wellbeing with the ability to develop and effectively implement individual learning plans, behaviour support plans and risk management plans with all stakeholders while providing a culture of high expectations for all students in a multistage setting

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work collaboratively, proactively and professionally with colleagues, parents, carers, school learning support officers, support agencies and the wider community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special Notes
Successful applicants may be entitled to a relocation support payment of $5,000 to $8,000 for eligible applicants.
