Position Information
Toongabbie West Public School is located on Darug land in Western Sydney within the Girraween network. Our current enrolment numbers are at 250 students including 3 hearing support classes.
The school has developed a research-based and data-informed culture and is committed to achieving outstanding outcomes in the areas of teaching, learning, student wellbeing and parent engagement. We have implemented highly successful programs and practices in each of these areas to achieve our targeted goals.
High expectations, expert curriculum knowledge, delivery of high quality research-based teaching and learning practices, and tracking of student achievement were identified from external validation and through situational analysis as future focuses. This ensures growth for all learners in literacy, numeracy and wellbeing, including attendance. Student performance data determines areas of need and future priorities. Collaboration between teachers and support staff is prioritised to develop collective efficacy and collegial support.
Genuine consultation with parents and carers guides individual student goals. Wellbeing for all remains an integral focus of everything we do. We improve student attendance and engagement by establishing deep connections with our students so that they are all known, valued and cared for through proactive programs and interventions as required.
