Position Information
Tallawong Public School is a vibrant new school that commenced operations in 2024, catering to students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Currently located on the grounds of Riverstone Public School, the school is scheduled to relocate to purpose-build facilities at 24 Macquarie Road, Rouse Hill in Term 2, 2026. This position will establish the school's very first support class, playing a pivotal role in developing tailored programs to meet diverse learning needs. Approximately 56% of students identify as English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) learners, and 1.6% identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. The school is committed to providing inclusive and culturally responsive educational programs. Specific Selection Criteria
1) Approval to teach K–6 with experience, skills and knowledge to teach students with complex needs, including autism and challenging behaviours, to promote positive learning and inclusive practices.
2) Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum by developing and implementing individualised education plans that are responsive to the diverse learning needs of students, promoting sustained student growth and engagement.
3) Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to contribute to whole-school culture and the capacity to engage effectively with diverse communities, establishing partnerships that support student wellbeing and learning outcomes—with staff, parents/carers, and external agencies.
4) Evidence of outstanding, flexible classroom management and adaptive structures, including early intervention, to enhance student engagement and cater to the communication, sensory, social and emotional needs of students.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
