St Ives High School is a comprehensive coeducational high school with a current enrolment in excess of 1730 students. 32% of students are from non-English speaking backgrounds and the gender balance is approximately 57% boys and 43% girls. An Autism Unit is being established this year which will operate alongside a long-established Hearing Support Unit within a new inclusive education faculty. St Ives High School also is home to an Intensive English Centre, a long running high performance and gifted education program and a substantial learning and support program, all of which are valued by the community.

There have been significant advances in infrastructure in recent years resulting in improved teaching and learning facilities including a new gym which is about to be extended, in a joint project with Ku-ring-gai Council. The school’s curriculum structure is based on KLAs and the school runs a substantial student wellbeing program. There is a mix of early career and experienced teachers who have played a significant role in improved HSC results in recent years.
