Position Information
St Clair High School is a comprehensive secondary school located in Sydney's western suburbs. It has an Inclusive Education Unit which has 5 multi-category classes and will grow to 7 in 2025. The student population of 750 is steadily increasing. The St Clair High School community is culturally and linguistically diverse. Whilst 38% of students have a non-English speaking background, 10% require some level of English as an additional language or dialect support. 9% of students identify as having an Aboriginal background.
High quality teaching and learning must begin in Year 7. Data collection, analysis and use will underpin our belief in individualised and differentiated learning and will be a fundamental part of these initiatives. St Clair High School is committed to effective collaborative pedagogical practice to ensure student growth in literacy, numeracy, and HSC success.

Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience in teaching students with Autism, Mild and Moderate Intellectual Disability, Behaviour Difficulties and other complex support and learning needs.
2. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality, relevant, individualised teaching and learning programs with a strong emphasis on student engagement.
3. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student wellbeing strategies to support students with varying behavioural, academic and social needs.
4. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the capacity to work collaboratively in teams and contribute to a positive school culture with students, parents/carers, staff and the wider community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
