About this job

Position Information

Smithfield West Public School is located within the Fairfield network of schools in south-western Sydney and has served as a vital hub for learning and community connection for over 60 years. The school currently has 300 students enrolled, with 88% coming from language backgrounds other than English, representing 30 diverse cultural groups. Additionally, 2% of students identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.

In Term 1, 2026, the school proudly established an Autism (AU) support class to further cater to the needs of its diverse student population.

Our school community is supported by a dedicated and collaborative team of teaching and non-teaching staff, comprising a blend of experienced and early career teachers. Together, they deliver high-impact teaching and learning programs tailored to student needs.

Our school ethos is founded on the core values: We Care, We Are Safe, We Learn. A comprehensive K-6 wellbeing framework is embedded throughout the school, fostering resilience and a strong sense of belonging. This supportive foundation enables our students to become successful learners and active, happy members of the school community.
