Position Information
Rooty Hill Public School is an integral part of the local community located in Western Sydney, where we provide 'Quality Education in a Vibrant, Caring School'. As part of the 'Learning Neighbourhood' we work with our local schools: Eastern Creek PS; Minchinbury PS; Mt Druitt PS; and Rooty Hill HS to provide a seamless education from Kindergarten to Year 12.
We have a student enrolment of 663 students including 3 Multicategorical Support Units which includes students from across the local area. These students are from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. Rooty Hill Public School prides itself on it's inclusivity, belonging and working together with students, parents and the wider community. For the 69% of students with a Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE) and for the 9% identifying as Aboriginal, we provide the support of specialist staff. These specialist staff work collaboratively with class teachers to ensure optimum results for each student.
Extra Curricular opportunities in sport, debating, public speaking and Creative and Performing Arts, enables our students to excel through a range of different experiences. All students have access to advanced technology. The school actively seeks to foster and develop student leadership and participation.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Autism and Behaviour Difficulties.
Approval to teach infants and primary (K-6) with a proven ability to use evidence-informed practices to deliver differentiated and engaging literacy and numeracy programs to meet the needs of and improve outcomes for all learners.
Demonstrated strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills which promote collaboration with staff and positive partnerships with families, community, support agencies, and students.
Proven ability to create positive learning environments through the implementation of effective classroom behaviour management and student wellbeing programs.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
