Position Information
Quakers Hill High School is a comprehensive coeducational 7-12 public school, with approximately 950 students in 2025, which forms part of the Nirimba Collegiate of schools, located in the north-west of Sydney.
Students at Quakers Hill High School benefit from comprehensive learning and support structures, classes for High Potential and Gifted students, and future focused learning. In the senior school, access to courses at different collegiate schools expands curriculum choice for students. The school has a Support Unit, providing three multi-categorical classes and two classes for students with autism spectrum disorder.
Quakers Hill High School is built on the lands of the Darug people. There are 40 students enrolled who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Approximately 32% of students are from a language background other than English, most of whom have spent more than 7 years enrolled in Australian schools.
Learning at Quakers Hill High School is underpinned by the SMART Code, which supports all students to be Safe, Motivated, Academic, Respectful and Tolerant learners. This is the main expression of the school's commitment to Positive Behaviour for Learning. Students regularly take part in SMART lessons to enhance engagement and achievement across the curriculum.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Autism and moderate Intellect Disability
- Commitment to student learning and wellbeing with the ability to develop positive relationships with students, families, staff and other key stakeholders to support student outcomes
- Capacity to collaborate with colleagues to implement curriculum and personalised learning plans
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
