Position Information
Plumpton Public School has an enrolment of 520 students across twenty-one mainstream classes, and from 2026, we will introduce our seventh inclusive education class. Our school embraces and celebrates the rich diversity of our student body. Seventy-four percent of our students speak English as an additional language or dialect, and we proudly support a cohort of 42 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Our dedicated teachers are committed to delivering explicit, high-quality teaching and learning, while also prioritising the social, emotional, and physical wellbeing of every student to help them reach their full potential. Under the expert guidance of our teaching staff, our School Learning Support Officers play a vital role in supporting students’ learning and wellbeing both in the classroom and on the playground. Our administrative team understands the importance of their role in fostering a friendly and welcoming environment for students, parents, and carers, ensuring strong support for our entire school community. We are proud to partner with parents, carers, and local community members to achieve our shared goals and create a positive, inclusive educational experience for all.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach special education and/or experience, skills and knowledge to teach students with complex needs, including autism, mild and moderate intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviours to promote positive learning and inclusive practices.
Demonstrated capacity to successfully deliver literacy and numeracy programs for students with diverse learning needs.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, families, and external agencies and providers, to build an inclusive and supportive school culture.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
