Position Information
Plumpton Public School is located in Western Sydney and has an enrolment of 516 students. Students come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. The school's enrolment includes an 8% Aboriginal student cohort, and 72% of students from English as an additional language/dialect background. There are twenty mainstream classes, and six multi-categorical  support classes. A range of experience exists on staff, from early to mid-career and towards end of career stage. Teachers are committed to providing explicit, high quality teaching and learning experiences, with a focus on students acquiring sound foundations in literacy and numeracy. Our non-teaching staff recognise the important role they play in supporting students, parents and carers. With the guidance of our teaching staff, our school learning support officers play an essential role in supporting student's learning and wellbeing in the classroom and in the playground. Our administrative staff provide a friendly, welcoming, attractive space for the school community. 
Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach special education and/or experience in teaching students with complex needs, including autism, moderate/severe intellectual disabilities, challenging behaviours and social / emotional needs.

Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum in a multi-grade classroom alongside the development and implementation of individualised learning and support programs that respond to the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities.

Well developed communication skills with the ability to work flexibly as part of a collaborative and supportive team to build strong relationships with students and the community.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
