Position Information
Located in the Girraween network, Northmead Public School opened in 1924 with current student enrolment numbers of 650. The school has a diverse population with approximately 50% from a language background other than English. Less than 1% of student population identify as being Aboriginal.

Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with autism and intellectual disabilities, with demonstrated ability to implement strategies that meet their communication, sensory, social and challenging behavioural needs.
2. Experience in designing, implementing and monitoring personalised learning and support plans to meet the learning and wellbeing needs of students using evidenced-based curriculum instruction.
3. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including school learning and support officers (SLSOs).
4. Capacity to contribute proactively to whole school programs and initiatives with an emphasis on inclusive practices.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
