Position Information
Macquarie Fields High School is situated on Dharawal land and is a large inclusive secondary school with an enrolment of 1125 students including comprehensive, selective stream and Special Education classes. The school is culturally and linguistically diverse with 83% of students having language backgrounds other than English and 21 students of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background.

Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach and/or demonstrated experience in teaching students with Autism in a secondary setting.
Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the capacity to work collaboratively and empathetically with teachers, support staff, parents/carers and stakeholders to build and enhance a culture of inclusivity.
Demonstrated successful classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment that promotes student learning, wellbeing and a demonstrated understanding that every child is known, valued and cared for.
Demonstrated capacity to contribute to a dynamic faculty that creates a culture of high expectations and drives student growth through effective planning and curriculum differentiation for personalised learning including effective evaluative practises.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
