Position Information

Leumeah Public School sits on the lands of the Dharawal People and is situated near Campbelltown in South West Sydney. The school is positioned in spacious grounds with multiple playgrounds and covered outdoor learning spaces.  Our school has an enrolment of approximately 500 students.  Over 50% of our students are from language backgrounds other than English and 5% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.  The school is comprised of 18 mainstream classes with an additional Opportunity Class and Autism support class, with an additional support unit opening in 2024.The school is actively supported by the P & C. 


Our 2021 - 2025 strategic directions have been developed with a focus on What Works Best 2020 update, Curiosity and Powerful Learning Framework and the School Excellence Framework. 

Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with autism, intellectual disability and a wide variety of needs in a fast pace learning environment.  
Highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the capacity to work collaboratively, proactively and empathetically with all stakeholders, including external agencies. 
A strong commitment to deliver high quality personalised learning and improve academic and wellbeing outcomes whilst building a culture of inclusivity. 
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
