Leeton High School has an enrolment of 450 students with 19% of the student population being of Aboriginal heritage. The school has also experienced a steady increase in EAL/D enrolments in recent years.

Specific Selection Criteria
  1. Approval to teach Special Education and/or experience in teaching students with Autism, Mild Intellectual Disability and complex needs including behaviour support and mental health.
  2. Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively to develop quality differentiated teaching and learning programs and resources and individualised learning, behaviour and wellbeing plans, to maximise student growth and promote high expectations for all students.
  3. Demonstrated successful classroom management with flexible and adaptive strategies that create a positive learning environment, promoting student wellbeing, authentic relationships, and success. 
  4. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to establish effective partnerships with parents, community, support agencies and colleagues to achieve improved outcomes for students.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
