Position Information

Lavington Public School is a K-6 suburban school located in the Albury Network. The school has approximately 415 students, 50 staff, and 19 classes, including three multi-categorical specialist support classes. 24% of the current school enrolment have a language background other than English, and 15% of students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Our community is comprised of a diverse range of family configurations, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

Specific Selection Criteria

  1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching special education students with autism spectrum disorder, mental health disorders, intellectual disabilities, speech and language disorders, ADHD and challenging behaviour. 
  2. Ability to deliver high quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs that embed Aboriginal perspectives using a range of assistive technologies, play-based learning, evidence-based and data informed practice.
  3. Demonstrated ability to implement effective classroom management skills to create a positive classroom environment incorporating the consistent application of inclusive wellbeing practices, including trauma informed and emotional regulation practices, to cater for a diverse range of students.
  4. Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, community members and external support services, promoting and achieving positive outcomes for all students.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
