Position Information

We provide comprehensive support through a commitment to differentiation for the purpose of learning support and extension to ensure every student is guided on their educational journey.
We also offer five dedicated support classes that cater for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), intellectual disability, mental health needs and complex learning needs. These classes provide specialised teaching, personalised learning plans and targeted wellbeing support to ensure every student can access and succeed in their education.
We provide Community Languages programs in Bengali, Urdu, Arabic and Indonesian and celebrate the cultural diversity within our school community through strong parent partnerships. We are committed to the holistic development of every child and our students can participate in a range of extra-curricular activities such as dance, choir, debating, public speaking and multiple sporting programs.

 
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach and/or successful teaching experience in a Support Unit class and/or specialised setting with students with complex learning and support needs, including but not limited to Autism, intellectual disabilities and behavioural challenges, with proven skills in applying strategies to support their diverse learning needs.
Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum through the development and implementation of Personalised Learning and Support Plans (PLASPs) that incorporate evidence-based practices to meet diverse learning needs, including the ability to track, monitor, maintain and review student data and progress.
Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with staff, students, families and external support teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills that foster a culture of collaboration and a demonstrated commitment to community engagement and inclusive practices.
Proven ability to develop, implement, maintain and review differentiated Behaviour Support Plans and transition processes, and to implement effective classroom management strategies that support student wellbeing within an inclusive learning environment.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
