Position Information

Gregory Hills Public School is a comprehensive K-6 primary school located in Gregory Hills NSW, in the Macarthur network, south-west of Sydney. The school was in its foundation year in 2023. Gregory Hills Public School is located in a new school build having been temporarily in a pop-up school. Our school motto ‘Connection Collaboration and Courage’ forms to basis of our school culture and the values we adhere to.

Gregory Hills Public School has a current enrolment of 490 students, including 10 Aboriginal students. Our predicted enrolment in the future is 1000 students. The school will have 3 support unit classes in 2025.

The school is an active partner of the 4C Transformative Learning organisation that empowers students, teachers and leaders with the capabilities to meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

Specific Selection Criteria
  1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with additional learning needs including autism, moderate intellectual disabilities and behavioural difficulties with proven abilities to implement strategies to meet their communication, sensory, social and challenging behavioural needs.
  2. Demonstrated ability to differentiate learning experiences for students with complex learning needs with a strong focus on growth in literacy and numeracy outcomes supported by the implementation of individualised learning programs.
  3. Evidence of outstanding flexible classroom management skills that demonstrate the implementation of whole school wellbeing programs focused on improving student engagement, creating a positive learning environment and promoting inclusive practices in all school settings.
  4. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents or carers and external agencies to improve student outcomes.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
