Position Information
Girraween Public School population consists of 1000 students. Of these students approximately 30 students are enrolled in our three support unit classes (IM, IO and MC) . 97% of Girraween Public School students are from a Language Background Other Than English.

Great special and inclusive education teachers are excellent communicators as they regularly communicate not only with students, but with parents, other teachers, support staff, health and well-being professionals and specialists. They create learning environments where all students can flourish, with the ability to support the individual learning needs of every student.Inclusive/special education teachers develop and deliver specialised learning programs for students Kindergarten to Year 6 who have a range of disabilities and learning difficulties. Specific Selection Criteria
Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with additional learning needs; with proven abilities to implement strategies to meet their communication, sensory and social needs.
2. Proven ability to initiate and deliver differentiated learning experiences to students with complex learning needs, with a strong emphasis on improving literacy and numeracy outcomes through the use of individualised learning programs aligned with the Disability Standards for Education.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
