Position Information

Galungara Public School opened in 2021 and aspires to be outstanding through the purposeful use of innovative learning environments that promote the development of creative and critical thinkers capable of deep inquiry. This encompasses the utilisation of technology-based platforms to engage in teaching and learning and a commitment to collaborative teaching in flexible learning spaces. 

Galungara Public School has accommodation for approximately 1 000 students to best meet the anticipated significant and rapid growth of the area. With a current enrolment of 831 students, students K-6, including those from non-English speaking backgrounds (87%) and students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (1.4%) along with three classes that cater for students with disabilities, Galungara Public prides itself on its inclusive environment.

Specific Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs. 
  • Proven knowledge of effective teaching pedagogy and ability to effectively differentiate the curriculum to cater for a diverse range of abilities within one classroom. 
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, community members and external support services to promote and achieve positive outcomes for students. 
  • Proven understanding and experience in contributing to whole-school initiatives that drive innovative practices supporting learning and wellbeing across the school.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
